Spring Cleaning and the Battle Against Viruses

As the Coronavirus continues to spread across the globe, it is our goal to keep our local members of Oklahoma informed and up to date on how to prevent the virus from spreading. There are many precautionary measures that you can take right now regardless if Oklahoma or surrounding states have been infected or not.

Prevent the Coronavirus by Following these Daily Simple Steps

  1. Wash your hands as often as you need to and be sure to use soap. It is important to wash your hands for around 20 seconds. Read the label on your soap to ensure its effectiveness.

  2. Use hand sanitizer. You will want to find a hand sanitizer that uses 70% alcohol. Use up to three times a day.

  3. Prevent the spread of germs, bacteria, and viruses by avoiding those who are sick. Always cover your cough or sneeze.

  4. Prevent germs from spreading by avoiding touching your nose, mouth, or eyes with dirty hands.

The CDC recommends that all household members should be aware of the differences between cleaning and disinfecting as well as understanding the symptoms that the Coronavirus may present. Begin by cleaning commonly touched areas such as light switched, remotes, door handles, toilets, sinks, tables, etc.. You will want to completely clean and disinfect these areas so that all or most germs and bacteria are killed.

Always use gloves when cleaning and disinfecting and be sure to discard the gloves or clean the gloves through roughly after cleaning. If you are concerned about what chemicals are disinfectants, look for diluted household bleach or alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol.

All in all, be sure to follow daily cleaning practices to reduce the spread of germs, bacteria, and viruses that could potentially be present. Our concern on the Coronavirus continues to grow and it is our goal to provide complete prevention strategies to keep the homes and lives of Oklahomans safe.
